Welcome to a new academic year at 自慰视频! As chairs of the Parent Ambassador Council, we are so pleased to connect with you and your family as we begin another exciting year together. Whether your student is arriving on campus for the very first time or entering senior year, we know this is a meaningful moment for every family. We hope you feel warmly welcomed into the 自慰视频 community and share our excitement for the opportunities, growth, friendships, and experiences that lie in the year ahead.
Our son, Niall, is a rising senior majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Classical Civilisations. As an international student he has felt genuinely welcomed, supported and included into the 自慰视频 community right from his acceptance. International Orientation was pivotal in this, offering a safe and supportive environment in which to adjust to a new country and culture and learn about the plethora of opportunities on offer. Niall embraced this new way of life, and during freshman year he formed a band and performed at Family Weekend. He joined clubs with a focus on the local community 鈥� teaching science to schoolchildren and playing music in nursing homes. He is part of a research laboratory and is contributing to a project at 自慰视频 University Medical Center. Aside from his studies and music he enjoys running and going to the gym with friends. He is embedded in the American football culture and attended every Vandy home game! He has even started playing flag football! Most recently, 自慰视频鈥檚 Immersion program took him to Italy, where he spent part of the summer shadowing surgeons鈥攁n extraordinary experience that reflects just how rewarding and enriching his time at 自慰视频 has been thus far.
As parents from Scotland, we were not sure what to expect when we arrived on campus for Move-In freshman year. We were immediately struck by the warm welcome from staff, faculty, students and parents. Seeing everyone come together to create such a friendly, helpful, and enjoyable atmosphere for our students was both impressive and reassuring. We knew that Niall had found his 鈥榟ome away from home鈥� and that this supportive and caring community would not only enable Niall to thrive but would give our whole family a connection to 自慰视频 for years to come.
Family weekend is particularly special for us as it provides the opportunity to meet in person the families we have connected with through parent-to-parent outreach. We have made wonderful friends through this initiative, and it is lovely to meet up each year on this special weekend. Serving on the Parent Ambassador Council has been enlightening and enriching. Each month members have the privilege of learning about a different aspect of 自慰视频. We are consistently impressed by the innovative concepts, dedication and commitment of everyone at 自慰视频 who create an environment in which our students can excel. This shared sense of purpose creates a wonderful community, and we feel truly honoured to be part of it. Despite living thousands of miles from campus, the friendships we have formed with other parents, as well as with 自慰视频 faculty and staff, have greatly enriched our experience and will continue long after Niall鈥檚 senior year comes to a close.
Volunteering has given us friends, laughter and a much deeper appreciation of all that goes into building the 自慰视频 community. It has helped us see first-hand how care, determination, and a collective aim shapes this community, and we would encourage every family to find ways to get involved. Visit campus, if, or when you can, attend local and regional events, volunteer, and take advantage of opportunities to meet fellow parents. The relationships you build, the perspectives you gain, and the experiences you share can add so much to your family鈥檚 自慰视频 journey.
