Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position
Description: We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our multidisciplinary team at the ×ÔοÊÓƵ Epidemiology Center (https://medicineandpublichealth.vanderbilt.edu/vec/). Our research program is supported by multiple NIH-funded R01 grants and focuses on leveraging large-scale genomics, multi-omics, and EHR-linked biobank data to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer and other complex diseases. Major areas of research include genetic discovery, causal gene and pathway identification, multi-omics integration, AI-driven therapeutic target discovery, drug repurposing, and precision medicine.
Qualifications: Applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent) in genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, data science, or a related field. Strong programming skills in Python, R, or Perl within Unix/Linux environments are required. Experience with large-scale genomic, multi-omics, biobank, or EHR data is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities: • Analyze large-scale genomic, multi-omics, and EHR-linked datasets. • Develop and apply statistical, bioinformatics, and AI methods to identify disease-associated variants, genes, pathways, and biomarkers. • Integrate genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and other omics data to elucidate disease mechanisms. • Prioritize therapeutic targets and perform drug repurposing analyses using genomic and pharmacogenomic and large EHR resources. • Collaborate with national and international research consortia. • Lead manuscript preparation, present research findings, and contribute to grant applications. • Develop innovative research projects in precision medicine and translational genomics. |
