Jenni Dunbar

Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Human Development

Jenni Dunbar is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology and Human Development. She attended ×ÔοÊÓƵ for her undergraduate and graduate education. Dr. Dunbar's involvements in the department include teaching undergraduate level courses (Developmental Psychololgy, Social and Personality Development, Abnormal Child Psychology, Introduction to Clinical Psychology, and Introduction to Statistical Analysis) and academic advising for undergraduates. Dr. Dunbar is committed to helping the first year transition at ×ÔοÊÓƵ through the Visions program as a faculty VUceptor and through teaching Commons Seminars in the spring.

Dr. Dunbar's prior research involvements included a preventive intervention for children of depressed parents (with PI Dr. Bruce Compas) and examining negative cognitive style in children of depressed parents (also with Dr. Bruce Compas) in the Stress and Coping Lab at ×ÔοÊÓƵ University. 

Dr. Dunbar's clinical experiences include couples and family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for children, teens, and young adults experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, developmental and Autism-specific assessments, and trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT) for children and adolescents.
