Healthcare is one of the major sources of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide, and medical imaging contributes to that impact because it uses a lot of energy. Although people have become more concerned about radiology鈥檚 role in climate change, most of what is known comes from adult imaging departments. This matters for pediatric radiology because children are especially vulnerable to the health effects of climate change, which can affect their wellbeing in many ways. The purpose of this manuscript is to review the main environmental impacts of radiology and point to areas where the field could become more sustainable.
