Student Services

The Commodore Card is your student ID and provides access to various campus services. You can use it for debit spending and to enter campus buildings, including residence halls, libraries, academic buildings, and the 自慰视频 Recreation and Wellness Center.

New Students: You’ll receive your Commodore Card at the Commodore Card Office (184 Sarratt Student Center) Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Returning Students: If you've lost your Commodore Card, report it as stolen immediately. Instructions for reporting and ordering a replacement card can be found here.

On-campus housing is available for undergraduate students. May and Summer session students live in air-conditioned single or double rooms. Cost for a room during May Session is to be determined. The price of a single or a double room for the full ten-week summer session is to be determined per person. These approximate rates are subject to change prior to room assignment. At this time, on-campus housing is not available for graduate and professional students and non-自慰视频 students. Students enrolled at other institutions completing academic internships or research in the Nashville area are welcome to apply for Academic Intern Housing through Conferences and Events.

Purchasing meals on campus is convenient with your student ID card, also known as the Commodore Card. Cash and checks are accepted.

The Sarratt | Rand Student Center offers a variety of programs and services throughout the summer. The Sarratt Welcome Desk serves as an information desk and ticket hub for campus events. Exhibits will be on display in Sarratt Gallery, and non-credit art classes for students of all ages will be held in Sarratt Art Studios. Dean of Students offices are housed in Sarratt and are open during regular business hours.

The Student Health Center's mission is to enhance the academic experience of students by providing quality primary healthcare services in a nurturing and cost-effective manner. All our physicians and nurse practitioners have chosen college health as their area of expertise and interest and are dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of the student population. Whether you are sick or injured, managing a chronic health problem, or working to develop a healthier lifestyle, the VU SHC is here to help.

The Student Health Center (SHC) is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We are located at 1210 Stevenson Lane in the Zerfoss Building. We are adjacent to Stevenson Center and across the street from McTyeire Hall and the Student Center for Wellbeing. Students should call 615-322-2427 for appointments or may also schedule online (for most types of appointments) at . Students may also walk in during office hours for acute care needs.

If students need urgent medical care after hours, they should call 615-322-2427 to speak to a provider on call. 

The Student Health Center offers the following services: Acute Care, Primary Care, Allergy Injections, Travel Consultations, Immunizations for travel and routine care, Sports Medicine, Nutrition Services, Gynecological Care, Medical Legal Exams for the sexual assault patient, a dispensary and lab services. There are no fees for office visits, but there may be small fees for medications, labs, and supplies. Students may pay with credit card or Commodore Card.

Medication and supplies ordered by Student Health Center providers and stocked in our dispensary are provided to students at cost. Some laboratory tests are performed on the Health Center premises at minimal cost; laboratory tests or x-ray services that must be sent out and performed at other locations will be billed to the student.

The 自慰视频 Recreation and Wellness Center is a diverse space that is more than just a gym by offering spaces to study, socialize, and recreate. The Rec has a 25 yard, 15 lane swimming pool, four basketball courts with volleyball and badminton options, racquetball courts, squash courts, and over 14,000 square feet of fitness space and equipment. The Rec also has studio space, a rock-climbing wall, an indoor track, multi-purpose spaces, and a 120-yard turf field surrounded by a 300-meter track in the indoor Field House. The Rec’s exterior spaces include a sand volleyball court and more than seven acres of field space including three natural grass fields and one turf field. All students who enroll in summer classes (with the exception of students enrolled through the Division of Unclassified Studies) are assessed the Student Services Fee and can utilize the Rec’s 289,000-square-foot comprehensive facility.

Degree and non-degree seeking students (excluding DUS and Consortium students) enrolled in four or more credit hours, a zero-credit research/dissertation course, or any other course that is considered to equate to full-time enrollment are required to have high-quality health insurance coverage and are automatically enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP).

Eligible students interested in waiving SHIP for the academic year may request to waive SHIP by completing a waiver form at .
