This year's symposium celebrates the culmination of a 10-week summer research experience, featuring听98 undergraduate researchers presenting their work across nanoscience, engineering, biomedical research, materials science, quantum, artificial intelligence, photonics, computing, and related disciplines.

Presenter - FAQs

What size poster should I bring?

Each presenter is assigned a 48-inch wide x 36-inch tall display space. Please ensure your poster does not exceed these dimensions.
Will my poster board be flipped during the event?

No. We are using both sides of each display board, so boards cannot be flipped. Please design your poster to fit the assigned orientation.
When will I receive my poster number?

Poster numbers will be assigned after the Wednesday, July 22 abstract submission deadline.
When can I set up my poster?

Poster boards will be available one hour before the start of each poster session to allow presenters time to mount their posters.
How do I mount my poster?

Velcro is the preferred mounting method and will be provided to all presenters.
Am I expected to stay with my poster?

Yes. Presenters are expected to remain at their posters throughout their assigned viewing session to discuss their research and answer questions from attendees.
I see judges visiting posters. Am I being judged?

Many programs are presenting during both poster sessions. Some programs include a judged poster competition, while others do not.
If your summer program includes judging, you will be notified in advance by your program. Judges often stop by posters outside of their assigned competition simply because they are interested in the research, so don't be concerned if someone asks about your work.
If you have questions about judging, please contact your summer program manager.
When are abstracts and biographies due?

To be included in the symposium program and assigned a poster number in your session, abstracts and biographies must be submitted by the end of the day on July 22. Failure to meet this deadline will likely result in your poster being removed from the symposium schedule.
What happens after the poster session?

Presenters are responsible for removing their posters at the conclusion of their poster session. Please do not leave posters on the display boards.
