Brightspace Content is Getting Upgraded
Beginning with the Fall 2027 semester, Brightspace courses will default to the New Content Experience. Additionally, Instructors now have the ability to enable or disable the New Content Experience in their own courses ahead of the change in Fall 2027. Brightspace houses a tool called NameCoach which allows students to record their name鈥檚 pronunciation to ensure other people in their classes are pronouncing it correctly. Adding NameCoach to a Brightspace course enables users to record their names for playback by the rest of the course. In this guide, we鈥檒l go over how this tool can be added to your Brightspace course.

Add NameCoach to your course
1. Open the Brightspace course in which you鈥檇 like to use NameCoach and navigate to the content page.聽
2. We recommend creating a module on your content page specifically for NameCoach. Once you鈥檝e created this module, select the module to enter it and choose the Existing Activities聽dropdown. From this menu, choose聽External Learning Tools.
3. In the box that appears, scroll down and choose Name Coach Roster.
4. You will now see Name Coach Roster in your NameCoach module.
