Brightspace Content is Getting Upgraded
Beginning with the Fall 2027 semester, Brightspace courses will default to the New Content Experience. Additionally, Instructors now have the ability to enable or disable the New Content Experience in their own courses ahead of the change in Fall 2027. The Table of Contents tool is part of the Content page and can be used by instructors and students to quickly move around the course. Course contents that are added to the course are displayed in the Table of Contents, and items in the Table of Contents can be reorganized by dragging and dropping items into a different order.
In the New Content Experience:
1) Click Content in the course navbar


2) The Table of Contents is located on the left-hand side of the course. The unit, lesson, and item names are listed on the left side of any Content page
3) Items can be rearranged by clicking the drag icon next the item name, and drag/drop the item to its new location on the Table of Contents.
4) Lessons and items can be placed inside units or other lessons. Click the drag icon and drop the item on top of a different unit or lesson.
In the Classic Content Experience:
1) Click Content in the course navbar

2) The Table of Contents is located on the left-hand side of the course. The module names are listed along with the corresponding number of topics inside each module.
3) Modules can be rearranged by clicking the drag icon next the module name, and drag/drop the module to its new location on the Table of Contents.
4) Modules can be placed inside other modules. Click the drag icon and drop the module on top of a different module.
